Dog Bowl 2018 Star: Gemma, Has Been Adopted!

After Gemma made her debut at Pet-A-Palooza, she was selected to participate in the first ever Dog Bowl by Animal Planet. Playing for Team Paws, Gemma caught the attention of thousands of viewers and helped spread the word about older dogs and special needs dogs. Gemma is blind, but had no trouble finding her way around the field and into viewer's hearts. We couldn't have picked a better dog to represent Little Shelter in the Dog Bowl and after her super star success on tv, only more great things awaited Gemma back home.

We are happy to announce when Gemma returned to Little Shelter from the big game, her new dad was waiting for her! She has been adopted by a long time friend and adopter of Little Shelter and will spend the rest of her life being spoiled just like she deserves. Congratulations to Gemma!
Puff Daddy Has Found His Furever Home!

Sweet Puff Daddy was brought into Little Shelter with his sibling when he was just a kitten. Even though he is extraordinarily friendly and follows his favorite people around like a dog, he spent the next 8 years as a resident of Little Shelter. He is very happy at Little Shelter and easily made friends with staff and cats.

For New Years "Puffy" thought about giving up can food, but decided his New Years resolution would be to find a furever family. Not long after the start of the new year, he met a sweet woman who was looking to adopt an adult cat. While she walked around the cattery looking at all the available kitties, Puffy wouldn't leave her side and she knew he was the one. We are happy to announce Puff Daddy will be starting off his new year in his new home. Congratulations Puffy!

Little Shelter Takes The Spotlight On Animal Planet's Dog Bowl

Most people are familiar with Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl which takes place during the Super Bowl. However, this year marked the beginning of a brand new event to promote adoption of older dogs: The Dog Bowl. Hosted by Jill Rappaport, this exciting event aired on the Saturday before Super Bowl and Little Shelter joined the ranks of rescues participating.

Our all-star Gemma played on Team Paws representing Little Shelter in the big game. The adorable 8 year old Lhasa Apso won the hearts of thousands watching the Dog Bowl. But this wasn't all that was in store for the fans of Little Shelter, as halftime arrived the game cut to a special segment of Pet-A-Palooza that happened this past summer right here at Little Shelter.

The segment focused on an inside look of Little Shelter's biggest adoption and fundraising event of the year. Highlighting some of the events adoptable dogs (who have all been adopted), as well as our cattery and some of the events that go on during Pet-A-Palooza. If you missed your chance to watch the segment live you can check out the video in the link below. Halftime begins about 24 minutes in:
